8:00 AM — Arrive Early
The market opens at 8:00 AM. Arrive early to beat the crowds and the heat (summers in Yiwu are hot and humid). Most suppliers are fresh and ready to negotiate in the morning.
8:30 AM — Start With Your Priority Products
Have a clear product list with photos. Show suppliers exactly what you’re looking for. They’ll either show you their version or direct you to the right booth. Don’t wander aimlessly — the market is too big for that.
12:00 PM — Lunch Break
The market has food courts on most floors. Chinese fast food, noodles, and dumplings are available for 15-30 RMB. Or step outside — there are restaurants all around the market.
1:30 PM — Afternoon Sourcing
Continue visiting suppliers. By now you should have collected business cards, catalogs, and sample products. Take notes and photos of each supplier’s booth number so you can find them again.
5:00 PM — Market Closes
The market closes at 5:00 PM. Head back to your hotel and review what you’ve collected. Organize your notes, compare prices, and decide which suppliers to follow up with.
